January 19 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm UTC-4
On January 19th at 2:00 in the afternoon, Trinity United Church will host a variety concert featuring such performers as Jeannie Campbell and Charles Reid, Parker Murray, Keelin Wedge and Not All There Band.
Parker Murray is a piccolo bass player who has performed across PEI. Parker is a singer and songwriter who covers blues to pop music through his original songs. Parker plays piccolo bass and bass guitar, drums and piano, all which can be heard on his 12-12 song album of original songs being released under the name Dawn Parker. He is seventeen years old and a grade 12 student at Three Oaks Senior High School.
Keelin Wedge started music lessons at the age of five, competed against other fiddlers at childhood fiddle competitions and now she is currently a member of the P.E.I. band Fiddlers’ Sons. Wedge is one of the most accomplished fiddlers, musicians and singers to come out of Western P.E.I. The St. Louis native blends a mix of fiddle, guitar, bass, mandolin, drums and singing, and the high energy performer also step dances and plays in several bands with several ranges of music genres. According to fellow band mate, Courtney Hogan “When you invite Keelin to play at a ceilidh, it’s like inviting a 12 piece band.”
Jeanie Campbell & Charles Reid bring an eclectic musical mix to the stage with songs ranging from old country to new and classic rock to originals. The duo of Jeanie, who sings with the popular dance band Phase II And Friends, and Charles, guitarist and singer with Party Mix, teamed up as way to play some of their favorite songs.
Not All There Band has been performing at ceilidhs and kitchen parties for nearly 25 years now and, still, you never know who may or may not be there for a gig. The core group consists of Gary Arsenault, Mike Johnston, Romona Roberts and Wendell Cameron and whoever else shows up. They do a great mix of cover tunes from Maritime, to Celtic, to Country and Rock and Roll.
Doors open at 1:15 and admission is $12.00. Advance tickets are available at the church office at 90 Spring Street in Summerside during regular business hours for $10.00 each or from Wendell at 902 954 1235.
